Brand New Sin has risen to new levels with their latest recording “United State" (October 24, 2011). The enduring trio of Kris Wiechmann (Vocals/Guitar), Chuck Kahl (Bass), and Kevin Dean (Drums) are joined by the new blood of Tommy Matkowski on lead guitar. Tommy’s playing is truly the finishing piece to this already powerful puzzle, lending a fresh and deeply rooted hard rock style to the Brand New Sin sound. This line-up spent much of 2010 on the road together defining the terms of “United State”, including opening shows for Slash & Myles Kennedy.
Brand New Sin has been recording and touring the USA and UK since 2002 along side many big national bands such as Motorhead, Black Label Society, Saliva, Breaking Benjamin, Type O Negative, Clutch, Soil, Mushroomhead, The Cult and more. They have opened for Godsmack, Dope, Chris Cornell, The Deftones, Drowning Pool, Audiovent, Dillinger Escape Plan, and countless others. | |||||

DISTILLED 2009 buy it! Brand New Sin return after two tumultuous years of upheaval. The aptly named "Distilled" (2009) is the 4th release from this upstate NY band, and 1st release done independently, with founding guitarist Kris Wiechmann producing and stepping in as the new lead vocalist. Distilled is a powerhouse hard rock record, with songs that span the genre, but one overall atmosphere pervades through every song, and that is the core of Brand New Sin.
The Brand New Sin rhythm section remains intact with founding bassist Chuck Kahl, and long time drummer Kevin Dean. Guitarist Kris Wiechmann takes over as the new lead vocalist as well as covering all of the guitars on the record. Kris has always been the primary songwriter of the band, and as the band Distilled over the last few years he found himself to be the answer to what the band long needed: a leader, and now at long last, the definitive voice of Brand New Sin.
